This year, our Seacroft Christmas Fest takes place from Saturday 10th to Sunday 11th December, at St James’ CE Church, Seacroft Green, Leeds LS14 6JJ.
Saturday timings are from 10am to 4pm. Sunday timings are from 4-6pm, concluding with the Community Carol Service, starting at 6pm.
Building on the last two years, we’re going to host a selection of events and activities.. including continuous live musical performances from a variety of performers throughout Saturday. We are hoping that various School Choirs will be singing for us as well as local groups of musicians and solo singers. There will also be a Children’s Christmas Card Competition (Under-5s, 6s-10s and 11s-14s) and a Family Treasure Hunt, in and around the Church, during the day. There’ll be prizes!!
On the Sunday, from 4-6pm there will be an afternoon of fabulous Children’s Christmas Craft activities, where the family can enjoy being involved. There is to be a Bauble-Making workshop, colouring, sticking and glitter … all sorts of crafty experiences that will excite children’s hearts and minds, occupying their hands and fingers in traditional Christmas activities in a traditional Christian environment.
Later on Sunday, starting at 6 pm, we will be holding our Community Carol Service, with traditional carols, readings and prayers. Those of you who attended last year’s Community Carol Service will be please to know that there will be another chance to hear the beautiful singing of the Heritage Singers alongside their Musical Director, Tim Knight, who will also be playing the organ to accompany our Community carol singing. We are also very pleased to say that the David Young Academy Singers will be performing and local people will be reading from the Bible, poetry and prose.
This is all alongside our Christmas Tree showcase, which this year will be sponsored by Bellway Homes, who have very generously donated 6 trees for decoration.
All donations will be shared equally between the Neo-Natal Unit at St James’ Hospital and the Leeds Branch of the Multiple Schlerosis Society.
